The tragic earthquake which struck Haiti has caused death and destruction on a scale that is difficult for most of us to imagine.  As awful as the direct damage from the quake and its aftershocks has been, Haiti’s lack of infrastructure, medical services, shelter, fuel, food and fresh water threaten to make a horrendous situation much worse.  Without your help, thousands more will die from disease, exposure, lack of medical care, and – if conditions on the ground continue to deteriorate -- possibly from violence.
